The Senior Portrait sitting fee is for the photographers' time, talent and the materials used to create a fine portrait of you. The fee does not include any finished portraits and is non-refundable. The sitting fee is due at the time you are photographed.
What is included:
Six poses with a choice of two studio backgrounds. A variety of creative poses will be taken. Allow fifteen minutes for the sitting. You may choose to have additional poses taken in different outfits. We have various canvas, muslin, high key and more.
We offer outdoor photographs in our own "Heritage Forest" for seniors who choose to have an additional sitting in a more casual outfit.
We use a variety of photographic gels, unique props and special effects. We also offer special digital effects on your portraits.
Sophisticated? Radical? Classic? Be creative and have fun with your senior portrait session. Bring several changes of clothes and express your unique personality. A sports jacket, uniform, hobbies, pets - take whatever is "you". Arrive 15 minutes early to use our dressing room and check your hair. Please be ready to be photographed at your appointment time.
Girls: Wear sweaters, blouses or dresses that have sleeves and a flattering neckline. Darker, autumn colors flatter your skin tones well and attract the viewer to your face. The exception to this are high-key (white background) portraits. Then clothing and accessories can be all white or all black to place emphasis on your skin tone.
Guys: For your head and shoulders' poses we recommend you wear a sweater or dress shirt and tie (we would be happy to tie it for you in a double-Windsor knot) with a suit or sports coat.
Be sure the neck of the shirt fits perfectly and is not frayed. Schedule a haircut three days prior to your appointment to allow your hair to return to a natural look.
A senior portrait that gets high marks begins with careful preparation. Here are some helpful suggestions for a great senior portrait.
INFORM the photographer of any special concerns you have about your poses or expressions before you are photographed.
SUNBURN - Don't get burned by this nasty habit. We know that you want to look tan, but please remember we are not able to remove the reddened complexion and pealing caused by sunburn.
HAIR - Wear your hair in your usual style(s). Don't try a new hairstyle or haircut just before your sitting. Hair is not our bag, it's up to you. We can't wash, cut or style your hair either before or after your portrait. Guys, wait to see your previews before you cut your hair for the football season!
GLASSES - If you wear glasses, obtain a set of matching frames from your optician that have the glass removed. This eliminates the glare, distortion and discoloration that could appear in your eyes.
COMPLEXION - Don't worry about normal blemishes or flaws in you complexion. All finished portraits except wallets are retouched to eliminate these imperfections.
MAKEUP - Girls should keep their makeup natural. A daytime makeup is preferred. Avoid light colored eye shadow and "fad" styles.
SHAVING - For the men, a close shave within a few hours of the appointment is a must.
ACCESSORIES - Be sure to bring accessory items with you such as necklaces, earrings, and you class ring. Hats are great for character studies.
REST - Get plenty of rest the night before your appointment. Wake up well before the appointment so you will look your best and not be rushed.
BUDDY PHOTOS - Bring a friend to be photographed with. This counts as one change of clothes.
PETS - A well behaved pet may join you for one of your changes of clothes. Please bring a friend to care for your pet during the rest of your sitting.
ETC. - Location portraits including beach scenes and parks are available at an additional charge. Also, arrangements can be made to photograph you and your car.
RELAX - Our photographers are skilled professionals. The create a fun atmosphere for your senior portrait.

At Heritage Photography our most memorable portraits are created when the photographer has a close personal rapport with the subject. The individual(s) are far more relaxed and at ease when family or friends are not watching them. Our studio policy not to allow other people in the camera room unless requested.
Canceling your appointment, especially on short notice is especially difficult for us given the amount of time we allot for your portrait. Please give us 24 hour notice to reschedule your appointment. When you make an appointment you are reserving a special time in the camera room for your sitting. Hence a fee equal to your sitting fee is assessed for all no-show appointments.
Heritage Photography maintains copyright on all photographs taken. Copying our photographs by any means is strictly forbidden.

Each April, a special day is set aside for photographing Cap & Gown portraits. There is no charge for this sitting. If you are interested in this special sitting be sure to let us know.
We at Heritage Photography believe that you are a unique individual created in the image of God. In all probability more people will view your senior portrait than any other portrait created of you in your life. Hence, photographing you is a responsibility we take seriously.
